BRS working president KT Rama Rao has been invited to attend Bathukamma celebrations in Dubai on October 11, organised by the Gulf Telangana Forum (GTF) and Emirates Telangana Cultural Association (ETCA). A delegation led by GTF founder and president Akula Surender met Rama Rao here on Sunday and handed over the invitation, urging him to join Telangana women and expatriate families in the celebrations.

The organisers said the annual event was aimed at preserving Telangana’s cultural traditions among the diaspora and strengthening their connection with their roots. Women, youth, children and families from the Telangana community are expected to

participate in large numbers.

GTF will organise its Bathukamma celebrations from 5 pm to 7.30 pm on October 11, followed by an ETCA event from 8 pm to 10 pm. BRS NRI global coordinator Mahesh Bigala said the party working president responded positively to participate in both programmes. A special promotional pamphlet for the celebrations was also unveiled in this regard.

The organisers said the celebrations will feature women in traditional attire arranging Bathukammas and singing folk songs. The programme is also being designed to showcase Telangana’s culture, folk arts and traditions to younger generations.
