BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Sunday dismissed reports of talks of a BRS-BJP merger, calling them baseless. Declaring that the BRS would stand as long as Telangana existed, he said there was no question of being a proxy to any other party or of entering into any alliances, especially with the BJP.
He was reacting to allegations made by BJP MP CM Ramesh from Andhra Pradesh, claiming that Rama Rao met him offering to merge the BRS in the BJP, if the latter ensured bail for K
Kavitha in the Delhi excise policy case.
Speaking at a party meeting in Mogullapally of Jayashankar Bhupalpally on Sunday, Rama Rao said the BRS, which was formed for Telangana, would continue to strive to safeguard the interests of the State and its people. He urged voters to ensure a BRS victory in the upcoming local body elections, asserting that the return of K Chandrashekhar Rao to power would end the people’s troubles, restore effective governance and protect the State’s self-respect.
