BRS working president KT Rama Rao accused the Congress government of neglecting farmers, holding it responsible for the suicide of a farmer in Adilabad district who had allegedly been facing distress due to the delay in crop procurement.

Calling it a State murder, he vowed to raise the issue in the ongoing Assembly session.

In a statement, Rama Rao recalled his visit to the Adilabad market yard on November 18, along with party leaders,

after receiving complaints from farmers that their produce was not being purchased.

He referred to the case of Tudum Ganapathi, a farmer from Arli (B) village, who reportedly waited for several days at the market yard for the procurement of his soybean crop.

Ganapathi expressed anguish before the media over mounting debts and lack of support, including non-receipt of loan waiver and Rythu Bharosa assistance. He died by suicide three days ago.
