In a joint operation by Julurupad and CCS police, a huge quantity of ganja was seized in the district and two persons were arrested on Tuesday.
Speaking to the media at Julurupad on Wednesday, Superintendent of Police B Rohith Raju informed that during vehicle inspections at Padamata Narsapuram under Julurupad police station limits, the police personnel
intercepted a mini-truck.
They found and seized ganja weighing around 830.54 kg which was concealed in a specially made chamber behind the engine cabin. The worth of seized ganja was Rs 4.15 crore. The substance was procured at Tulasipaka village of Alluri Sitaramaraju district of Andhra Pradesh and was being smuggled to New Delhi, the police official said.
