Forest Minister Konda Surekha briefly lost consciousness at the Secretariat on Thursday, and recovered soon after. Officials confirmed there was no cause for concern.
The incident occurred as the Minister was on her way to attend the State Cabinet meeting. She reportedly felt giddy and collapsed on the sixth floor of the Secretariat. The medical emergency team
promptly attended to her and administered first aid.
Officials attributed the episode to low blood pressure, possibly due to fatigue and skipping meals.
“She had not eaten since morning and may have fainted due to exhaustion,” they said.
The Minister recovered quickly and participated in the Cabinet meeting, they added.
