Khammam Police Bust Temple Dacoity Gang, 3 Arrested

The Khammam police on Monday arrested a three- member daoity gang for allegedly committing a series of offences in temples in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. 

The arrested have been identified as Sheikh Jani alias Jani Sharif, Perala Narasimha Rao alias Bobby, and Arva Uday Kumar. 

Twenty-four grams of gold, 1,536 grams of silver articles, a car, a motorcycle, and



other articles were recovered from the possession of the arrested persons, Kallur Assistant Commissioner of Police Vasundhara Yadav told media persons.

Yadav said Sheikh Jani and his associates were involved in numerous thefts at temples not only in erstwhile Khammam district but also at several other temples in Andhra Pradesh. The gang was accused of stealing gold and silver ornaments from these temples.
