District Collector Anudeep Durishetty has initiated a programme ‘Every child reads’ aiming to improve reading skills of primary students of government schools in the district.
The programme, which started on October 27, is being implemented for an hour from 3 pm to 4 pm every day. It has been designed as a Basic
English phonetics programme, as part of which teachers would teach students what sound each English letter makes.
Phonetic sounds would be taught with small, short words so that the students could understand the concept easily. A study material has been prepared to enable the students to read English easily, Anudeep informed.
