Khammam: Candidates contesting the Khammam Local Authorities’ Constituency (LAC) MLC election have to produce evidence of having received two shots of Covid vaccine, said District Collector VP Gautham.

The Collector along with Commissioner of Police (CP), Vishnu S Warrier held a meeting with contesting candidates here on Wednesday. He said besides the candidates, their polling and counting agents should also produce proof of Covid vaccination.

Those who received two doses of the Covid vaccine have been appointed as the polling and counting officials and staff, Gautham said, adding that elaborate arrangements were made for polling and counting.

He urged the



candidates to extend their cooperation in conducting the election in a smooth and peaceful manner. The polling station-wise details of ballot papers and boxes have been provided to the contesting candidates, he said.

Warrier informed that as part of the election model code of conduct dry day has come into force from 4 pm Wednesday onwards. A cloakroom would be set up at polling stations where the voters have to deposit their mobile phones and pens to collect after casting their vote.

Additional Collector N Madhusudhan, Congress candidate R Nageswara Rao, independent candidate K Srinivas Rao, TRS candidate T Madhusudhan’s representative N Venkateshwar Rao were present.
