Continuing their crackdown on the tainted officials, the sleuths of Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested Keesara Inspector Arkapally Anjaneyulu and Sub-Inspector Dyapa Gnanender Reddy in connection with Rs.5 lakh bribe case.
Following instructions from Anjaneyulu on Wednesday, Gnanender Reddy was caught red handed by the ACB when he demanded and accepted the bribe amount of Rs.5 lakh from the complainant for doing an official favor,
according to a press release issued on Thursday.
The bribe was demanded for granting station bail and not harassing the complainant and his friend in the case already registered at Keesara police station. The ACB officials said the tainted bribe amount of Rs.5 lakh was recovered from the possession of Gnanender Reddy.
They said both Anjaneyulu and Gnanender Reddy performed their duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage.
