Tue 01 Aug 2017, 12:16:47
Junior Doctors of Osmania General Hospital went on strike on Monday in protest against the attack on a lady doctor by the relatives of a patient.

Except for emergency services, the junior doctors have boycotted all the services. The relatives of a woman turned violent after she died at the IMC unit of OGH on Sunday night and allegedly attacked a lady junior doctor alleging negligence. This triggered strong protest by the junior doctors. They informed OGH Superintendant Dr G.V. Murthy and also lodged a complaint at Afzalgunj Police

Station.

Dr. Murthy held talks with junior doctors and formed a special team to probe into the incident. The team would submit its report within three days. Meanwhile, Junior Doctors Association president Abhishek said that the junior doctors would be on strike till the receipt of report.

However, he said that the junior doctors would only attend emergency medical services. He demanded that the hospital management should ensure security for junior doctors by increasing the staff and by installing CC cameras in the hospital premises.
