Demanding immediate rollback of recently hiked examination and service fees, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) – Hyderabad students staged a protest on the university campus here on Thursday.

According to the Students Protection Forum (SPF) that led the protest, the university increased the exam fee from

Rs 765 to Rs 1,500, online services fee from Rs 500 to Rs 1,500, and transcript fee from Rs 60 to Rs 100.

The forum also opposed the university’s decision to collect Rs 2,000 as processing fees for grace marks, provisional certificates and consolidated marks memos, stating that these services were earlier free of cost.
