A day after being invited into the BRS, former Minister T Jeevan Reddy called on the party chief and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao at his Erravelli residence on Friday. The meeting witnessed visible camaraderie between the two senior leaders, with an emotionally charged atmosphere.
Jeevan Reddy, who recently resigned from the Congress and signalled his intent to join the BRS, arrived at Erravelli, along with his family members and former Zilla Parishad chairperson Vasantha Suresh. BRS working president KT Rama Rao along with several senior leaders received him warmly and presented a bouquet.
During their meeting, Jeevan Reddy who became visibly emotional upon meeting Chandrashekhar Rao, expressed deep admiration for the latter, stating that he felt as if God Himself sent him to work alongside the BRS chief. He also conveyed his eagerness to join forces after a long political gap for development of
the State.
“At a time when Telangana is facing challenges, I felt a compelling need to work alongside you. It is as if God Himself sent me with the mandate to join hands with you, Anna. I am overjoyed to finally have an opportunity with you after all these years in politics,” he said, pouring out his heart.
The former Chief Minister responded warmly, embracing Jeevan Reddy and honouring him with a traditional shawl. The leaders held detailed discussions over lunch, where timing and modalities of Jeevan Reddy’s formal entry into the party were reportedly deliberated. Sources said the details of his joining are expected to be announced shortly.
Several prominent BRS leaders, including former ministers Koppula Eshwar, Gangula Kamalakar and Vemula Prashanth Reddy, MLC L Ramana, MLA Dr K Sanjay Kumar, former MP J Santosh Kumar, and others from the undivided Karimnagar district, were present.
