The Adilabad police on Wednesday busted an inter-State bike theft gang with the arrest of eight persons including those who purchased the stolen bikes. 

The five persons, who had stolen bikes, have been identified as Marampelli Anil (21) and Shaik Shabbir (39), both residents of Chincholi village, Shaik Mustashahid (36) of Keshavapatnam, and Mohammed Zakir (55) and Mohammed Shafi (37), both residents of Sirikonda village.

The three persons, who purchased the stolen bikes, are Mujahid and Kareem, both residents of



Keshavapatnam, and Iqbal of Gundala. Adilabad district Superintendent of Police, Akhil Mahajan stated that an interstate gang involved in a series of bike thefts across erstwhile Adilabad district and surrounding areas of Maharashtra has been apprehended putting an end to their activities. 

Addressing a press conference, he said the police focused specifically on the series of two-wheeler thefts reported within the limits of Ichoda police station and launched an investigation based on CCTV footage, technical evidence and reliable information.
