In Telagana, The Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) has reviewed various measures being taken by the state government to contain the spread of Cornavirus in Hyderabad. The Central team led by additional secretary in Jal Shakti Ministry Arun Baroka has been taking stock of COVID-19 pandemic situation in Hyderabad for the past two days. The team will continue its study today before leaving for Delhi this evening.

Director General of Police Mahender Reddy explained the Central team about the steps taken by the State police to ensure total lockdown in Hyderabad. He also informed the team about the security measures taken up by them at all hospitals where Covid-19 patients were undergoing treatment and suspects placed under quarantine. The team also interacted with farmers at Rythu Bazar in Mehdipatnam and inquired about the transportation of stocks to the market, checked the prices of vegetables and essential commodities.

The team visited Nature Cure Hospital where a quarantine centre set up, and checked the facilities, laboratory, medical staff on duty. The team also visited a



containment zone and a night shelter where migrant labourers have been kept. 

The Central team will visit the GHMC Control room, Gandhi hospital, the nodal hospital for COVID-19 treatment and likely to meet state Chief Secretary before concluding its visit. The IMCT members include Senior Public Health Specialist Dr Chandrashekhar, NIN Director Dr Hemalata, Director Consumer Affairs S S Thakur and NIDM Associate Professor Shekhar Chaturvedi.

Telangana crossed 1000 mark in Coronavirus positive cases as 11 people tested positive for the virus yesterday. With this, the total number of cases in Telangana has become 1001. Among them, 660 are active cases while 9 more have been discharged from hospital taking the number of total recovered to 316. It may be recalled that the state recorded 25 deaths due to COVID-19. Meanwhile, a 75 year old has been discharged after recovery. He has been a contact to a person who attended Markaz event in Delhi. Sangareddy district has been declared COVID-19 free by Finance Minister Harish Rao.
