Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy on Thursday announced that the State government will finalise locations for Indiramma housing projects within the Core Urban Region (CURE) limits by June 28. A detailed brochure on the scheme, including eligibility criteria and application procedures, will be released in the first week of July.

The government has set a target of constructing one lakh houses in the CURE area this year. As part of the first phase, 500 houses will be taken up in each Assembly constituency. The housing projects will be developed as 10-storey apartment complexes in areas close to where beneficiaries currently reside to ensure that livelihoods, children’s education and daily routines are

not disrupted.

The Minister, who reviewed the housing programme on Thursday, said housing project sites had been identified in around 20 of the 26 Assembly constituencies within the CURE limits. The remaining locations, along with project designs and layouts, are expected to be finalised by June 28.

Women beneficiaries will be provided ownership rights through the registration of their undivided share in the property.

Officials were directed to expedite preparations for the construction of permanent buildings for RDO and Tahsildar offices across the State, in coordination with district administrations, and submit proposals for repairs to existing structures wherever required.
