Independent candidates shine with three-digit votes in Jubilee Hills bye-election

In a tragic turn of events, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) candidate in the Jubilee Hills assembly bye-election, Mohammed Anwar, died due to a suspected heart attack at his residence in Erragadda before the election results were announced.

The candidate, who contested the bye-election, was awaiting the outcome. Unfortunately, he did not live to see the results of his campaign.

The news of Anwar’s death came as a shock to his supporters and the local community. Many expressed their condolences and remembered him as a dedicated and passionate individual who worked for the betterment of his constituency. In the bypoll results announced, Anwar had secured 24 votes.

for the Jubilee Hills assembly constituency, a total of 58 independent candidates were in the fray. While some of these candidates campaigned on issues such as unemployment and serving the people, others were not actively seen running their campaigns.

Among the independents, Amboju Buddiah, who contested on behalf of the Alliance of Democratic Reforms Party, secured the highest 231 votes while Rathod Ravinder Naik recorded the lowest count for an independent, polling nine votes.

Kandarpally Kashinath, a 30-year-old unemployed resident of Jukkal in Nizamabad district, contested as an independent candidate. He holds an MSc in Botany, an MSc in Psychology, and an MA in Islamic Studies, and managed to secure 22 votes.
