The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow warning for rain and 40-kmph wind on Tuesday and Wednesday in the GHMC area and some parts of the state. The affected districts include Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally. On Wednesday, thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and 40 kmph are likely to occur at isolated places in the districts- of Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahbubabad, Warangal and the GHMC limits.

Following the IMD alert, the GHMC’s Directorate of Enforcement Vigilance and Disaster Management



(EV&DM) on Monday evening advised people to call 040-21111111 or 9000113667 for assistance from the Disaster Response Force in case of need. On Monday, the city too witnessed rainfall and several roads were waterlogged which affected traffic flow. Kukatpally, Alwal, ECIL crossroads, Kapra and Secunderabad were some areas where commuters faced hardships due to waterlogged roads. Traffic was also out of gear in Ameerpet, Kukatpally and Nampally after the rain. The GHMC said its DRF teams attended to complaints related to waterlogging, uprooted trees, tree branches falling.
