Just when people in Hyderabad and districts were recovering from the recent spell of heavy rains and hoping that the monsoon season was ending, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD)-Hyderabad has issued yet another heavy rainfall warning for nearly ten districts, and extensive thunderstorms in the remaining districts for September 22 and 23.

Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are very likely to occur at isolated places in all the districts and heavy rainfall is likely in the districts of Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, Jogulamba Gadwal, Nirmal, Nizamabad, and Rangareddy.

Meanwhile, based on a weather forecast from IMD-New Delhi and

independent weather trackers, including ‘Hyderabad Rain’ on X, there are chances of yet another low-pressure area (LPA) over the Bay of Bengal.

On Sunday, IMD-New Delhi said, “A low-pressure area is likely to form over the North Bay of Bengal within the next 24 hours. This system is expected to strengthen into a depression around September 26 and move in a west-northwest direction. It is likely to cause very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall over parts of central and peninsular India, including Telangana, from September 26-27 onwards.”

Weather trackers here pointed out that in case the LPA turns into a depression, there are chances of heavy to very heavy rainfall on September 26 and 27 in Telangana.
