The south-west monsoons continue to be relentless in Telangana! On Friday, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD)-Hyderabad issued fresh warnings of red and orange alerts, indicating very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall events in multiple districts, due to the Low Pressure Area over the Bay of Bengal.

The most severe warning, a red alert indicating extremely heavy rainfall (more than 204.5 mm or 20.4 cm) was issued for Vikarabad and Sangareddy districts for Saturday, putting local authorities on maximum alert.

Furthermore, for Saturday, a very heavy rainfall warning, which ranges from 115.6 mm to 204.5 mm (11.5 cm to 20.4 cm) was issued for Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Medak,



Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool.

The very heavy rainfall (orange alert) for Sunday was issued for Nirmal, Nizamabad, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, Jogulamba Gadwal.

Hyderabad and its neighbouring districts including Medchal-Malkajgiri, Rangareddy, Medak and the rest of the other districts in Telangana State will receive heavy rains (up to 115.6 mm) during the next 48 hours, the IMD-Hyderabad forecast indicated.

Furthermore, the IMD-Hyderabad on Friday maintained that thunderstorms, lightning along with gusty winds reaching speeds of 40 to 50 kmph are very likely to occur at isolated locations in all the districts of Telangana.
