The Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) has extended its visit by one day in Telengana. It is taking stock of the COVID-19 situation in Hyderabad. 

The Central Team led by additional secretary in Jal Shakti Ministry Arun Baroka has been visiting various places of treatment, containment zones, quarantine centres, markets, hospitals and inquiring about various steps that the authorities are taking to contain spread of corona virus for the past three days. The team will visit few more spots in Hyderabad and some other places today.
 
The visiting central team is having a close look at treatment methods, facilities to patients at hospitals and quarantine centres besides inquiring about the methods being followed in containment zones and assessing the lock down impact on normal people in Hyderabad.
 
Touring extensively in the city, the team last evening, visited the Gandhi Hospital, where over 600 COVID patients are undergoing treatment. They inspected treatment methods and facilities being given to patients.
 
The team inquired about availability of sufficient sanitation, paramedical and security staff at



the hospital, number of beds, ICU facilities, ventilators and the safety measures for doctors and staff. Earlier, the team visited Humayun Nagar Containment Zone and government quarantine centre at Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital.
 
They interacted with doctors and the local Municipal officials about the services rendered to the residents with health issues like diabetes, hypertension, and also about the fever survey. The team interacted with people in the containment zones about the services being provided.
It inspected the central drug store and enquired about supply of medicines to the other districts of the state. They also looked into the quality of PPE kits provided to doctors and supporting staff who are attending to the COVID patients besides the method of their disposal.
 
Earlier, the central team met senior officials including State Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, DGP Mahender Reddy and inquired about the measures being taken to contain spread of virus and visited few local markets to inquire maintenance of social distancing and transport of essential commodities and their prices.
