Air Chief Marshal Chief of Air Staff AP Singh reviewed the Combined Graduation Parade (CGP) of the 215 course at Air Force Academy (AFA) Dundigal, here on Saturday.
The event commemorated the successful completion of the pre-commissioning training of 254 flight cadets as flying officers across various branches.
During the ceremony, the reviewing officer conferred the “President’s Commission” to the graduating trainees. The ceremony included presentation of ‘Wings’ to successful candidates on completion of their training as young officers of the IAF, Indian Navy, and Indian Coast Guard. One officer from Vietnam, a friendly foreign country, also graduated.
Rohan Krishna Murthy from
the flying branch who stood first in the order of merit was awarded the coveted “President’s Plaque” as well as the “Chief of the Air Staff Sword of Honour’. He commanded the parade.
Nishta Vaid was awarded the “President’s Plaque” for standing first in the overall order of merit in the ground duty branches.
Earlier, the ceremony commenced with the display by the Akash Ganga team and Air Warrior Drill Team (AWDT). Fly-pasts by the Pilatus PC-7 MkII, Hawk, Kiran and Chetak aircraft were also part of the ceremony.
The aerial displays by PC-7 MkII, Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) were special attractions, which captivated the audience.
