HYDRAA teams clear waterlogging, fallen trees after heavy rain

HYDRAA Disaster Response Force (DRF) teams cleared waterlogged areas and choked drains and removed uprooted trees after heavy rain during office closing hours on Tuesday evening.

A press statement said SFOs, DRF personnel and MET teams had been placed on alert and took precautionary measures in flood-prone areas.

About one foot of water accumulated at the Secunderabad Clock Tower RUB underpass, a low-lying location without adequate stormwater drainage. Teams removed the water using 25 HP motors,



allowing traffic to continue without disruption, it said.

HYDRAA’s control room received complaints of fallen trees at nine locations and water stagnation at four places at around 7 pm. Teams cleared all reported obstructions and removed the accumulated water.

Meanwhile, HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath inspected several areas and supervised the removal of stagnant water beneath the Secunderabad Clock Tower bridge. Additional Director Varla Papaiah and DFOs also participated in the inspections.
