The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) on Wednesday secured 9.05 acres of government land worth over Rs 90 crore in Shamshabad mandal of Ranga Reddy district by clearing encroachments and erecting fencing around the property.
According to revenue officials, the land falls under Survey No. 626/2, where a total of 176.05 acres is recorded as government land. Out of this, 166 acres had already been allotted to the Forest Development Corporation, leaving 9.05 acres as unallocated government land.
Disputes have arisen over the ownership of the remaining land, with some individuals claiming it as ‘CS 14’ (Nizam-era land). However, revenue authorities maintain that it is government
land.
The matter is currently pending before the High Court, which has issued a status quo order directing that no changes be made to the nature of the land and that no construction activity be carried out.
Despite the court’s order, complaints were received through Prajavani alleging that a person identified as Tajammul Moinuddin Khan had levelled the land and converted it into a layout.
Field verification by officials confirmed that the land had been encroached upon using precast boundary walls, and some plots were reportedly sold.
After issuing notices under the Land Encroachment Act, 1905, and receiving no compliance, revenue and municipal authorities approached HYDRAA seeking removal of encroachments.
