Hyderabad: Hydraa demolished toddy compound and tin sheet sheds built by encroaching nala at Chintal Basti on Banjara Hills Road No. 12 on Wednesday.

The original width of the culvert on the nala was 15 feet which was shrunk up to 7 feet due to unauthorised structures built on it, Hydraa officials said. This nala starts from Bulkapur

Cheruvu in Shankarpally and passes through Nagulapally, Puppalaguda, Manikonda, Dargah, Mehdipatnam and Chintal Basti and reaches Hussain Sagar.

To ensure free flow of Balkapur nala, the encroachments were removed and the unauthorised construction was demolished, Hydraa officials said in a press release.
