The state-of-the-art Outer Ring Road to Kondapur flyover – Shilpa Layout Phase 2 – promising to ease the traffic woes of commuters in the IT Corridor is getting ready and is planned to be inaugurated in the first week of June.
This flyover has been constructed under the Strategic Road Development Programme (SRDP) at a cost of Rs. 178 crore. It will be available with six lanes – 1.2 km long and 24 meters wide – and is a third-level structure built on two existing flyovers. Below is the Gachibowli Junction flyover, above which is the Shilpa Layout Phase 1 flyover, and now the Phase 2 Flyover is built above
it.
This flyover when operational will reduce the severe traffic problem at Gachibowli Junction to a large extent and will be very convenient for vehicles going from ORR to Kondapur and Hafizpet routes. It will provide better connectivity to Hitec City and Financial District. Apart from saving travel time, commuter can reach their destinations faster without getting stuck in traffic.
GHMC officials said the work of the flyover is in the final stage and arrangements were being made to complete the work by the end of this month. Out of the total 42 works undertaken through SRDP, 37 works have been completed with this flyover.
