Hyderabadi dies in US road mishap

A man from the city died in a road accident in North Carolina in the United States three days ago. According to the victim’s relatives here, G Sahith Reddy, 27, was on his way to the gymnasium when an unidentified car hit him.

He collapsed on the road and died. The incident happened on Saturday morning. It is learned that the driver of the car tried to trace the family members of the man with the help of police and inform them but could not do so in the absence of any identity document on Sahith.

Sahith had gone to the US a year ago in search of a job and was doing odd jobs there. He had completed his Master’s in Science in New Jersey and was expected to join a company there on Monday. On coming to know about the



incident, the family contacted the NRI cell at the Telangana Secretariat seeking their help in bringing the body to India. They have also contacted Union Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj.

Meanwhile, the Telugu Association of North America has got in touch with Sahith’s brother and friends in the US and is following up the case there with the authorities. Cinematography Minister T Srinivas Yadav visited Sahith’s house at Adikmet and expressed his condolences to the parents and family members. The Minister said the State government would extend full support to the family in bringing back the body of the victim to the city. The State government is taking up the issue with the Centre, he said.
