A friend in need is a friend indeed, an adage says, but two friends landed in trouble as the Jubilee Hills police arrested them on Monday for indulging in impersonation in connection with a road accident case.

The arrested have been identified as Sirish, a software engineer and a resident of DD Colony Amberpet and his close friend Sailesh, a resident of Panjagutta. The duo studied in the same college.

Hill Inspector K. Venkateshwar Reddy said Sirish was on his way to his residence after attending a party in his SUV from Kokapet early Sunday under the influence of alcohol. While negotiating a curve on Road Number 45 in Jubilee Hills, Sirish lost control and rammed into a central median. As air balloons in the vehicle opened after hitting the median, Sirish escaped unhurt. He fled leaving the vehicle at the spot fearing that the police would arrest him.
