Hyderabad to host kite fest from Jan 13

Hyderabad will play host to kite clubs and enthusiasts from nearly 15 countries during the upcoming week-long International Kite Festival starting from January 13. Minister for Tourism, Culture and Tribal Welfare, Ajmeera Chandulal on Friday said that all out efforts will be taken up to make this year’s kite festival a memorable one for public and participants. 
As part of the festival, on January 12, a special kite festival during night will be organised at Necklace Road, People’s Plaza. Between January 13 and 15, the Aga Khan Academy, Hyderabad will play



host to the International Kite Festival.
Later, the kite festival will move to Yadadri, where kite clubs from India and other parts of the world will showcase their kite flying talent. To popularise and expose the art of kite flying to other parts of the State, the Tourism department officials have also decided to hold the kite festival in Warangal district between January 17 and 19.
To encourage children to participate in the kite festival, the Tourism department officials have also roped-in school students from 20 different schools from Hyderabad.
