The All India Tennis Association (AITA) has agreed to introduce the National Tennis Mixed Doubles Championship, bringing the mixed doubles format into India’s national championship calendar as a dedicated competition. Telangana will host the inaugural edition.
The inaugural championship will carry a ?10 lakh prize purse and bring together leading men’s and women’s players from across the country for a national-level mixed doubles competition.
The Telangana State Tennis Association has been entrusted with hosting the championship for the next three
years, providing a stable platform for the new national event to grow and establish itself as a regular feature of the Indian tennis calendar.
The first tournament will be held at the Jubilee Hills International Centre in Hyderabad.
The championship will feature a 32-team main draw, with qualifying scheduled for October 24 and 25 and the main draw from October 26 to 30.
The ?10 lakh prize purse further underlines AITA’s commitment to creating meaningful competitive and professional opportunities for players on the domestic circuit.
