Hyderabad, Telangana see sharp rise in July temperatures

July in Telangana is usually defined by steady showers and cool, rain-washed, cloudy conditions in Hyderabad and across all the districts of Telangana. This year, however, the State is experiencing an unusual shift, as maximum temperatures have risen significantly, reminiscent of the summer that ended just a few months ago.

With no active monsoon trough and no rain-bearing systems over the Bay of Bengal, almost all districts of Telangana are witnessing a dry spell, with temperatures rising by 1 degree Celsius to 4 degrees Celsius.

Based on Telangana Development Planning Society (TSDPS) weather data, Hyderabad is feeling the heat, with Bandlaguda recording a maximum temperature of 36.9 degrees Celsius on Saturday. The situation is more intense in the districts, particularly in parts of Suryapet district, where temperatures have climbed



close to 39 degrees Celsius.

The maximum temperatures in neighbouring regions of Greater Hyderabad, including Medchal-Malkajgiri, Rangareddy, Vikarabad, Sangareddy and Yadadri-Bhongir, have hovered between 36 degrees Celsius and 38 degrees Celsius, which is two to three degrees Celsius above normal.

According to the weather forecast issued by IMD Hyderabad, the maximum temperature in Hyderabad over the next two to three days will hover between 35 degrees Celsius and 37 degrees Celsius.

The weather department said that in the last 24 hours, the maximum temperature in Hyderabad was around 35.2 degrees Celsius, which is 3.7 degrees Celsius above normal. The humidity levels are also expected to be high, hovering between 70 per cent and 78 per cent over the next 48 hours in Hyderabad and surrounding regions.
