There is a distinct nip in the air in Hyderabad and districts of Telangana as night and early morning temperatures have dropped quite significantly in the last 24 hours. Driven by clear skies and northerly wind flows following the monsoon’s withdrawal, the rapid nighttime cooling has created a unique weather with cold breezy wind flowing across the twin cities.

In the last 24-hours, between Sunday evening and Monday morning, the lowest temperature of 14.8 degrees Celsius was recorded at Patancheru, according to Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS) data.

After Patancheru, the TSDPS data indicated that Ameenpur area recorded 14.9 degree Celsius, while BHEL and HCU Serlingampally recorded 15.1degrees Celsius. The minimum temperatures in the residential zones within the core regions of Hyderabad ranged between 17 degree Celsius and 19 degrees Celsius.

During the day,

thanks to sunny conditions, the maximum temperatures are hovering between 30 degree Celsius and 32 degrees Celsius. However, by evening, clear skies over Hyderabad and rest of the districts is allowing day’s heat to escape quickly, paving the way for quick night time cooling.

Data from the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS) indicates that night and early morning temperatures have started sliding downward across many parts of the state, giving residents a distinct taste of cooler weather.

Some of the other regions that recorded low temperatures in Hyderabad include Rajendranagar (15.4), Ibrahimpatnam (15.4), Moula Ali (15.8), Shamirpet (16.6).

Temperatures, however, are expected to rise by a degree or two in the coming days, thanks to extensive cloud cover, which is likely to happen from the middle of this week due to the upcoming cyclone over the Bay of Bengal.
