Hyderabad: The police will take necessary steps to create awareness on the safety of women and to control cybercrimes, said Director-General of Police Anurag Sharma here on Monday.
 
Speaking after releasing T-shirts and medals to be presented to participants of the 5km and 2km awareness run from People’s Plaza on March 5 here, he said the police department was organising a series of events on March 4 and 5 in connection with International Women’s Day.
 
Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy will inaugurate an expo in which



more than 50 stalls would be set up at People’s Plaza on March 4. Competitions in photography, short films, painting and poetry are also planned to mark the occasion.
 
The city police have drawn out plans to create awareness about women’s safety in different ways. The campaign has been conceived to raise awareness among women on using digital technologies and participating in online community activities.
