City Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar, on Friday, announced that a Central Investigation Team (CIT) will soon be constituted to closely monitor key and sensitive cases. He emphasised that the police goal is not just arresting offenders, but ensuring stringent convictions in courts.
The commissioner chaired the monthly crime review meeting for October at the TGICCC (Telangana State Integrated Command and Control Centre) in Banjara Hills and reviewed case registrations, investigation progress, and reasons behind acquittals in previous
cases.
Officials were instructed to rectify delays and strengthen case handling.
Sajjanar issued several key directives including immediate FIR registration of every complaint without negligence, prioritising long-pending cases for quick resolution, and treating women complainants with dignity.
To tackle rising cybercrime, he stressed strengthening technical capabilities and utilising experts apart from all field officers carrying their weapons while on duty, with weapon drills every 15 days.
