The Hyderabad Police have made elaborate security arrangements at the strong room located inside Kotla Vijay Bhaskar Reddy Indoor Stadium in Yousufguda, where the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) used in the Jubilee Hills Assembly bypolls are stored.
The strong room, established under strict supervision of Election Commission officials, is being guarded round-the-clock by armed police personnel both from the central force and city police.
The area has already been declared a high-security zone with multi-layered barricades, restricted entry and a
CCTV surveillance network in place.
Police have also set up check posts around the stadium and deployed Quick Response Teams (QRTs) to handle any emergency situations.
Senior police officers from the West Zone visited the stadium on Wednesday to review security preparedness. “Access to the strong room is limited to authorised officials, and all movements are being logged as per Election Commission protocols,” said a senior police official.
The EVMs will remain under tight security until the counting day, i.e., November 14.
