The Hyderabad City Police have launched Zonal Cyber Cells (ZCCs) across all seven zones to provide swift, localised, and effective solutions to the escalating threat of cybercrime. Speaking after inaugurating these cells yesterday, Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand said the police are now better equipped to handle the cybercrime complaints efficiently with dedicated units in each zone.

He exuded confidence that it would improve detection rates and facilitate the refund process for

victims. A total of 61 personnel have been nominated to staff the Zonal Cyber Cells. These personnel have been carefully selected and trained to handle the unique challenges in cybercrime investigations. They will also work closely with the Cyber Crimes Police Station (CCPS) for technical support and expertise. The ZCCs will focus on immediate registration of complaints, blocking fraudulent transactions, enhancing detection rates and assisting cybercrime victims.
