The City Police conducted large-scale combing and cordon-and-search operations in the Charminar zone and Shamshabad zone on Saturday, deploying over 600 personnel to curb rowdyism and anti-social activities.
In the Charminar Zone, 30 teams comprising about 300 personnel verified 90 rowdy sheeters and carried out extensive house searches, focusing on illegal weapons and banned substances.
Police said strict legal action, including
heavy fines and binding-over proceedings, will continue under a zero tolerance policy.
Meanwhile, in the Shamshabad Zone, a massive cordon-and-search operation was conducted in the Balapur area where nearly 800 houses were checked.
Police have seized 27 two-wheelers, two autos, nine illegal gas cylinders and identified 17 rowdy sheeters and seven suspects. Officials said such operations will be intensified to maintain law and order.
