A major forgery case has come to light after eight private colleges were allegedly found submitting fake Fire No Objection Certificates (NOCs) by forging the signature of HYDRAA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath.

The forged documents were reportedly submitted to the Telangana Board of Intermediate Education as part of the colleges’ recognition process.

Following a complaint, the Lake Police registered a case under Sections 337, 336(3), 340(2), 318(4) read with 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Police have launched an investigation into the alleged forgery and use of fabricated

official documents claiming to be issued by the Fire Department of HYDRAA.

According to officials, the colleges involved are located in Tellapur, Chikkadpally, SR Nagar, Mehdipatnam and Barkatpura.

“We suspect the management of these institutions were involved in preparing or submitting the forged Fire NOCs,” said an official investigating the case.

Officials also revealed that Fire NOCs submitted by around 60 more colleges are currently under scrutiny to verify their authenticity.

Further action is expected based on the outcome of the verification process.
