The Chikkadpally police booked about 100 cases against people who violated the mask rule and were found with no masks in public places on Monday.

As part of strictly implementing the ‘Mask On’ policy in view of the surge in Covid-19 cases, the police conducted special drives against mask rule violators at various locations.

Accordingly, those found with no masks at places including hotels, pan shops, tea stalls,

bus stands, etc., were caught and fines imposed on them.

Meanwhile, the police also warned shop keepers to ensure Covid-appropriate behaviour is followed on their premises and among staff and the customers.

Officials asked the shops to put up ‘No Mask, No Entry’ boards and make sanitisers available. The special drive will continue and violators will be booked and fines imposed on them, the police said.
