Hyderabad Ganesh immersion procession on September 25

Hyderabad is gearing up for city’s biggest cultural and spiritual event, a massive, multi-km centralised Ganesh idol immersion procession on September 25, marking the culmination of 12-day festivities.

Apart from the GHMC, the newly formed civic bodies of Cyberabad and Malkajgiri have identified and equipped dozens of local immersion locations—strategically utilising traditional lakes, designated water bodies, and eco-friendly artificial baby ponds for the idol immersion.

Stretching from Balapur in the south, the massive rally will pass through historic landmarks, including Chandrayangutta, Falaknuma, Charminar, and Moazzam Jahi Market, before culminating at the Telugu Talli flyover and NTR Marg. The police, in association with the civic body, have completed an inch-by-inch route



inspection.

To ensure an obstruction-free route for towering vehicle floats heading toward Hussain Sagar, officials across the three civic bodies executed ground clearances. The intensive, round-the-clock drive involved pruning overhanging tree branches, addressing overhead height restrictions, completing critical road repairs, and clearing or bundling low-hanging internet and electricity cables.

Barricading has been put in place along Hussain Sagar to manage scores of devotees accompanying the colourful Ganesh idol processions.

To ensure that the idol immersion is completed in one day, the GHMC deployed heavy-duty mechanical cranes along both NTR Marg and PV Marg (Necklace Road) three days ago, with officials stating that every platform is fully operational for the incoming rush.
