Hyderabad is emerging as one of India’s most digitally habituated urban markets, where UPI is moving beyond convenience to become an integral part of everyday spending.
According to the How Urban India Pays 2026 report by Amazon Pay and Pahlé India Foundation, the city’s digital payment behaviour points to a mature market one where consumers are comfortable with digital transactions and increasingly responsive to the value offered by payment apps.
The
report’s inputs position Hyderabad as a city where 76 per cent of spending is already digital, reflecting the growing role of digital payments in everyday financial activity.
From dining out and travel to routine purchases, digital payments have become deeply embedded in the urban consumer experience.
The trend also highlights the influence of Hyderabad’s salaried professionals, identified as one of the country’s most digitally habituated consumer segments.
