A case was booked against actor Siddharth at the Hyderabad Cybercrime police station for allegedly making derogatory comments against Olympic bronze medalist Saina Nehwal on Twitter.

The case was booked under Sections 509 of Indian Penal Code and 67 of Information Technology Act following a complaint by a woman Prerna.

Siddharth has been in the midst of a controversy for



the last few days after he made allegedly derogatory comments about Nehwal’s tweet on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s convoy being blocked in Punjab. With his tweet backfiring, Siddharth had apologised to the shuttler, saying nothing disrespectful was intended.

The Cybercrime police received two complaints against Siddharth and based on one complaint, have registered a case and are investigating.
