In a major move aimed at curbing corruption and indiscipline in the city police, the Hyderabad Commissioner of Police, VC Sajjanar, transferred 65 personnel working in the Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force and attached them to CAR Headquarters.
The policemen are from the sub inspector rank to the constable rank and work in all seven zones of the city in the Commissioner’s Task Force. The team works directly under the supervision of
the Hyderabad City Police Commissioner.
It is entrusted with the task of preventing organized crimes, detection of important and grave cases, and acting as a riot-control force during disturbances.
In the history of the Task Force, such a huge number of personnel have been moved out and attached to City Armed Reserve Headquarters. The department order states that the transfers were made on administrative grounds.
