Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar said the city police would soon be starting vehicle checking and putting in place Static Surveillance teams and flying squads for the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.

Addressing media persons, the Commissioner said all the background work for surveillance on anti-social elements had already been done. “We have zero tolerance for communal violence. Persons with criminal record will be bound over for good conduct. Stringent action will be initiated against any persons who breaks the law,” he



said.

In next two days, there will be detailed discussions with the officers of Inspector and above rank. “Vulnerability mapping and criticality mapping of the polling stations in the city have been nearly completed. We will forward the reports to the Chief Election Officer by the weekend,” Anjani Kumar said.

The Commissioner said that the main objective of the city police was to ensure a free and fair election with participation of the public.
