A major enforcement drive against ghee adulteration across the city has resulted in the seizure of around 36 tonnes of material, including 25.5 tonnes of adulterated ghee and 10.5 tonnes of raw materials.
The crackdown was carried out by the Hyderabad Food Adulteration Surveillance Team (H-FAST) of the Commissioner’s Task
Force.
The team targeted units involved in the manufacturing and sale of ghee and conducted inspections as part of a comprehensive special enforcement operation.
Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar is likely to provide details of the inspections, the nature of the adulteration detected and further legal action at a media briefing later today.
