In an innovative step to promote responsible driving, City Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar, on Monday launched the #SafeRideChallenge, a social media campaign encouraging citizens to make road safety a viral movement.
The initiative calls on motorists to record a short video or take a photo before starting their ride showing themselves wearing helmets or fastening seat belts and then tag
three friends or family members to do the same. The campaign aims to create a chain of positive influence, particularly among youth and regular commuters.
“Safety never goes out of style. Every ride begins with a choice to protect yourself and those you love,” said Sajjanar, urging people to participate enthusiastically. “Together, we can make safety the coolest trend of 2025,” he added.
