Tense moments unfolded at the Rajiv Gandhi International (RGI) Airport on Sunday after a Hyderabad-bound flight from Germany received a bomb threat.
The flight LH 752, operated by Lufthansa Airlines, was en route from Frankfurt Airport to Hyderabad Airport when the crew was alerted about a potential bomb on board.
The aircraft was airborne and flying over
Bulgarian airspace. Following standard security protocols and after obtaining clearance from Air Traffic Control the aircraft turned back and safely landed at Frankfurt Airport under full security measures.
The incident has triggered panic among the relatives of passengers who were expecting the flight’s arrival in Hyderabad. The RGI Airport authorities have confirmed the developments.
