Hyderabad basketball league to begin on September 17

The Hyderabad District Basketball Association will conduct the GM Sampath Kumar Annual League Basketball Championship 2026 at YMCA Secunderabad.

The league matches will kick off on September 17 at the YMCA Secunderabad Basketball Grounds, featuring 45 men’s teams and six women’s teams.

The men’s teams are divided into three levels, with the top teams grouped based on their performance in last year’s edition. The six women’s teams will



play on a league basis.

Level III comprises 21 teams divided into five pools, with four pools of four teams each and one pool of five teams. They will play on a league-cum-knockout basis, with the top four teams from Level III progressing to Level II, where they will join 12 teams.

Level II, with four pools of four teams each, will be played on a league-cum-knockout basis. The top four teams from Level II will progress to Level I, which has 12 teams.
