Ongoing heavy rains over the last couple of days have caused Hussain Sagar to swell with significant rise in water levels.
Concerns were raised about the ongoing rainfall’s impact on surrounding areas, as the lake water levels remain at elevated levels.
The GHMC Lake Division officials are closely monitoring the situation and have advised people to stay alert, especially in low-lying localities.
The Met department forecast
more showers in the coming days, raising concerns about further swelling of the lake. Residents living near the lake observed that the water is steadily increasing, with some areas along the banks already experiencing minor inundation.
