From temporarily halting the serving of tea and coffee to avoiding preparation of roti, dosa and puri, the hostels in the city have come up with a contingency plan to tide over the gas cylinder shortage due to ongoing US-Israel-Iran war.
To reduce gas consumption and manage the situation effectively, the IT Corridor Hostel Association has urged hostels to temporarily stop serving tea and
coffee besides avoiding roti, dosa puri and other-food varieties that consume a lot of time for preparation.
It also suggested avoiding high oil-consumption breakfast items such as Vada and Mysore Bonda.
Further, depending on the situation and availability of the gas, the association urged the hostels to stop serving some curries and extra food items temporarily.
