Following the heavy rains that lashed Hyderabad on Monday, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) has urged the public not to open manhole covers to prevent serious accidents.

In a statement, the HMWS&SB said it had deployed Emergency Response Teams (ERT) to manage the

situation. Senior Water Board officials, including MD Ashok Reddy, said staff would remain in the field for the next three days to ensure continuous monitoring and swift response to any issues.

The Water Board assured the public that all necessary efforts would be made to ensure water quality is maintained across the city.
